Madam CJ Walker (Sarah Breedlove} has been proclaimed as the first female self–made millionaire and most successful African American entrepreneur in American history. To honor Women’s History Month in March, the NC100BW-PA Chapter recognizes several outstanding African American women entrepreneurs and students in the Delaware Valley area who embody the characteristics of Madam CJ Walker, and have demonstrated excellence in entrepreneurial efforts and community outreach. The theme for the 31st Annual Madam CJ Walker Luncheon is “Because of Her, We Can” and plans to inspire attendees to acknowledge women business owners who paved the way for future entrepreneurs. Madam CJ Walker’s legacy continues to be part of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women tradition by highlighting her achievements as an entrepreneur and philanthropist.
