Newly Shorn Colin Farrell and Claudine Farrell Plus "Dead Man Down" Film Schedule Change

WHAT'S FILMIMG ON WALNUT STREET 16TH AND 17TH YOU ASK and who am I going to see? Colin Farrell, Noomi Repace, Domenic Cooper and Terrence Howard. Here's the story on last week's shooting.

I'm calling this weeks shooting:  Colinlapozza- If you can't make it I will keep you up to date here, and on twitter @IPhillyChitChat

DMD Productions, LLC is scheduled to film scenes for the upcoming feature film “Dead Man Down” on Walnut Street, between 16th Street and 17th Street, on the following days between 6am and 9PM:
-          Wednesday May 2, 2012
-          Thursday May 3, 2012
-          Friday May 4, 2012
-          Monday May 7, 2012
“Dead Man Down” is an action film that will be directed by Niels Arden Oplev (“The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”).  It will star Colin Farrell (“Miami Vice”, “Crazy Heart”, “Alexander”), Terrence Howard (“Hustle and Flow”, “Iron Man”), and Noomi Rapace (“The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”, “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”).

As you know Dead Man Down is filming in Philadelphia for the next two months. This week was the start of the real filming, in real time, of the movie. Last week, SPOILER ALERT, was shot in a sepia tone to reflect a home movie with his "family" a la Law Abiding Citizen. If you saw the movie (that was also filmed here in Philadelphia), then you know what I'm talking about.  This weeks filming kicked off at the SS United States. It was only there for one day. Then they filmed in Northern Liberties and Fishtown. Yesterday afternoon they filmed at 17th and Locust Streets. One of the background actors had a Sigourney Weaver sighting on Locust Street. (Celeb Sighting: Actor Ciaran Hinds dined at Serafina last nite with a lady friend. He stars w/Sigourney Weaver in USA Network's Political Animals.)
Last nights shoot was inside of the Land Title Building on Broad Street (left). They lit up the surrounding buildings for the background.
There was a light shining from the top of the Ritz Carlton Hotel onto the Land Title Building. I arrived about 10PM and stayed til 530AM waiting for the outdoor scene that was scheduled to be shot. The background "picture cars" arrived about 1AM, and it was originally scheduled for a 3AM shoot, but problems arose.
It was cold. I was cold. Here the food craft is wheeling in some Irish Stew for the actors including Terrence Howard. It was his first night on the set. (OK Quick story, I think I only told it on Fox 29 and didn't write it out. Colin Farrell went to the Sporting Club with his bodyguard, not training as I first thought, anyway girl behind check in desk said I will look that up for you Mr Firth. At which Colin replied, yea if I were a foot taller and had some class. I'm Colin Farrell. So funny. I like him)
Some people were in a different spirit

by the way, the freaks do come out at night
I waited 6 hours, and all I got was an ok picture of Colin Farrell. I completely forgot to change my batteries after shoot the Fairmount Conservancy event, and the other shots were dark. wah wahh. But I have a couple fun stories I'm gonna share with you next week on Fox 29 Philly that I think you'll like.  Oh BTW they never filmed the outside scene I was tweeting about. Seems the film schedule had gone past their 12 hrs of continuous work and for union sake they have to pack it in. So at 530AM we all called it a night. (which was actually 13 hrs past start time.)  Colin Farrell and his sister Claudine Farrell leave the set of 'Dead Man Down' in Philadelphia where filming has been taking place Philadelphia, US. Note the script in her hand.  He's a fast walker, even faster than she is.
Next week they changed the film schedule. I know why. Colin Farrell is hot hot hot now. He's just completed the remake of "Total Recall" Well after a few screeners the director realized that they needed to re-shoot a few scenes.  So no filming on Monday or Tuesday now, but Dead Man Down Colinlapozza for the rest of the week it's on the 1600 block of Walnut Street.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS - held it's annual “Man & Woman of the Year” gala  to raise funds for blood cancer research at the Union League in Center City. The candidates compete in honor of children who are local blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year. The votes are in dollars, every dollar counts as one vote and the titles are awarded to the man and woman with the most votes at the end of the ten weeks; The top fundraisers locally win the titles nationally. Meaning if John Smith raising a hundred thousand dollars and that is the highest anyone raised in the country, then he is the National Man of the Year. It's a very clever way to raise money. The Falco's were very confident with their fundraising efforts to secure the Man of the Year title. They had 7 private events, did lots of fundraising with their friends and reached out to corporations. But it's not only about winning the title Anthony said, it's about raising money for a wonderful cause. The twelve candidates collectively raised $409,000 for LLS. Anthony Falco of West Chester earned the title of Man of the Year raising $209,000, which is an unbelievable amount. Dawn Scradino of Philadelphia claimed the title of Woman of the Year and she raised $26,000. The winner: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society | Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter

Colin Farrell and his bodyguard getting into his car on Market Street.
I completely forgot to mention on Fox 29 that last weekend Colin traveled to Virginia to attend his sisters wedding, then after that he headed to Mexico to promote his summer blockbuster, the remake of "Total Recall", guess Arnold won't be back. This week he's lying low as the movie Dead Man Down has started filming. On air I discussed that the photos we take help promote Philadelphia internationally, as the movie is set in NYC and only if you're from Philly will you see parts of the city, for the rest of the world they'll see NYC.  This is what I meant by that UK Daily Mail   I can sometimes say things that don't make sense as my head is full of lots of tidbits but I never know which way the conversation is going to go.

This week filming will be on the SS United States, then will move to Walnut Street. (PicturePhilly)

DMD Productions, LLC is scheduled to film scenes for the upcoming feature film “Dead Man Down” on Walnut Street, between 16th Street and 17th Street, on the following days:

Saturday I was judging the Oyster Shucking Contest at the Oyster House on Sansom Street. OMG I had no idea the degree of difficulty judging a contest like that, and on top of it getting Sigourney Weaver sightings all over town. It was a beautiful day with lots going on like, Comcast Cares Day at the Comcast Shopping & Food Court on the basement level of the Comcast Building. I had just photographed that event before arriving for my judging duties.  (Above my other judges, Kristina Jenkins, Where Magazine and Allison Stadd, uwishunu)
The overall winner was Tiny from Capital Grille restaurant. He's biting into his golden oyster.
The winner of the amateur contest with Oyster House owner, Sam Mink. Sorry I don't have his name, I tried to track it down but to no avail. He won last year too. What's he do for a living I wonder?
On Saturday, during my judging of the shuckers, Sigourney Weaver, here in town to film an USA Channel mini series called "Political Animals", was spotted having brunch at the Continental Midtown on Saturday. She then headed for a bit to the Parkway for the Phila Science Festival, then walked to the Rittenhouse Square area with 3 friends and did a bit of shopping at the Farmers Market. She bought a bouquet of flowers before heading back to her rented home in the Rittenhouse area. Last week it was reported that she and Carla Gugino dined together at Le Castagne (1920 Chestnut); what wasn't reported was the entire cast from the upcoming cable show was at the dinner. They were running over the production schedule.

Monday night I was honored to be included on the very small invite list of Chef Jennifer Carroll's pop up restaurant at Meme. Jen is preparing for her new restaurant Concrete Blond, and was trying out some of the recipes.
Who's in the room, friend, family a a smattering of media people like Dan Gross, moi and Michael Klein. Jen's family, mom dad and sisters, cousins, uncle aunt and I was so happy to see them all. I need to go to their next BBQ, I love their company. Oh and Jon Gosselin was there.

Jon Gosselin and his girlfriend, Liz J. Cute couple. Jen and Jon share an attorney Chris Cabott  (Christopher J. Cabott, Esq. is an entertainment, sports and media attorney, and National Football League player agent with the Law Office of Lloyd Z. Remick) Yesterday Jen's phone was blowing up as people thought I said on Fox 29's Good Day Philly that Jon was dating Jen, or they thought the photo was of Jen. Not so peeps.
Next Up for Jen, The Burger Brawl on May 6th

Beanie Sigel/State property shot a music video at Philadelphia Soundstages on Tuesday for a new label deal with Chris Schwartz and EMI.

Eating Out: Gavin Rossdale of Bush, had dinner at Talula's Garden on Monday night.  I hear he enjoyed a multi-course chef tasting menu created specially by Executive Chef Sean McPaul of Talula’s Garden. The next day he had lunch at Dandelion
Check out my Fox 29 Good Day Philly

segment on Tuesday. Full audio as the one on the site had a slight problem. You can hear what I think of Jen Carroll's bass.

Aaron Luther and Kristy Dark work together at a Texas law firm. While in Philly they had big plans to see the City, but first wanted to experience the night life and cheese steaks. So far not so good on the cheese steak as they tried one as soon as they got off the plane at the airport. Didn't like it. Not sure what cheese wiz is or why it's on anything. They did later hit the Reading Terminal where they had one with provolone cheese, now they're big fans. Also fans of Pod, and Miscounduct, the bar on Locust Street. The following day they were headed to see the Bell, run up the Rocky Stairs and catch the Van Gough exhibit. They loved the Pennsylvania Convention Center too, and this happy hour Zarwin Baum hosted.

DOG DAY AFTERNOON - Sigourney Weaver about town

I'm sorry I can't add a lot of commentary today. I was so slammed last week I am still trying to catch up. This morning I'm on Fox 29 Good Day Philly at 9:30AM so I want to get a good night's sleep, or as good as you can at 230am
A lot of these shots are just doggy treats

 Doesn't mind laying where
Washington Square. As a matter of fact I took these the last time I was on Good Day Philly. Probably not going to sit on a bench there today.

Just because he can I guess
A passion for fashion

Just because

I was shooting the flag, then he popped into my photo

Heavy Burden (I could never do that, I'd always fall flat on my face)

I'm always a fan of these shots you see in the paper right around finals

NBC Universal had a pop up virtual garden near 19th and Chestnut Streets. PHS help with the actual garden and the manure was smelling fresh. Admission to the garden was to sacrifice something to make the Earth greener, like walk to the grocery store, turn off unused lights etc (It was only for one night, and it was spectacular.)
