The purpose of the Foundation is to provide Scholarship assistance to children of deceased United States Marines and Law Enforcement Personnel. Above the Police and Fire Pipes and Drums Corp. There are currently on 85 living recipients of the United States military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor. It is bestowed to any member of the United States Armed Forces who distinguishes himself "conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States." Above there are four: Medal of Honor Recipients: Brian Thacker, James Taylor, Jon Cavaiani, and Harvey C. "Barney" Barnum, Jr Lieutenant General George Flynn with Philip Parkinson.

Brian Thacker, (US Army Ret.), Lt. James Allen Taylor (US Army Ret.). In September, Mayor Michael A. Nutter and Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey honored members of the Philadelphia Police Department who have served our nation in the U.S. Military since the attacks in New York and Washington, DC on September 11, 2001 which included Tony Boyle.
Susan Brennan, William Brennan, Dean Picciotti, Col. Harvey C. Barnum Jr (USMC Ret.) (He was the fourth Marine to receive the medal for valor in Vietnam. He retired from the Marine Corps in 1989 after more than 27 years of service. Barnum is currently serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Reserve Affairs, a position he has held since July 23, 2001.) Lisa Picciotti, and Supreme Court Justince Seamus McCafferty

General Ronald Coleman, was the Second African-American in the Marine Corps History to reach the rank of Lieutenant General. Rob Bender, General Craig Crenshaw. Crenshaw is the commanding general over about 3,600 Marines in the 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, in Okinawa, Japan.
