Friday night after Kerry Washington's screening of her new movie " Night Catches Us ", Philadelphia Style Magazine held an after party at the Chestnut Street Club.

Many of stylish Philadelphian's came out to enjoy the bites of 12th Street Caterers and mingle with the beautiful people that make up these parties. Anne Nikolaus on the right and her girlfriends

I wish I had gotten a better shot of Haley Binn's stockings. This season stockings have become more than just leg warmers, and seem to come in all kinds of interesting styles.

Actress Kerry Washington and director Tanya Hamilton pose for pictures at the 19th Annual Philadelphia Film Festival premiere of Night Catches Us on Saturday. Featuring a score by The Roots, the film hits theaters December 3.
Actors Jamara Griffon, Sadiq Afif and Kerry Washington. The movie is set in 1976, and is a complex political and emotional forces are set in motion when a young man returns to the race-torn Philadelphia neighborhood where he came of age during the Black Power movement.
Love this little dance Kerry does toward Jason Binns. Wish I had videoed it.

Phila Film Festival's Andrew Greenblatt and Kerry Washington. This "newly revised festival" was epic for Philadelphia. They brought in a lot of amazing movies, great talent, and they had a "red carpet" with a step and repeat when possible. They really went the extra mile to get me there, the brass from the top down greeted me, and made my work that much easier to do. For me my schedule was too banged up tight to make everything, but from what I could see this festival is going to make Philly a contender in the Festival circuit. Something I've always wanted to see.

Michelle Miller, GN Kang and Mia Colona. Like I said stockings are no longer functional, but stylish too.

Anthony DiMeo III and his baby. baby's got back and front.

Congrats to Ashley Schaeffer on her recent engagement

A member of the audience is daft and stuck on the idea that the movie should have been filmed in North Philly where the story "probably happened", but this is not a documentary states Kerry Washington so it's fine that it's filmed in Germantown where the director placed it.

Fox 29's Mike Jerrick with his main squeeze on his right, and their friend.
Tip sheet so that I can recognize the peeps walking the red carpet.
Jamara Griffon was awesome in the movie, and I told her so.

There was a nice spread
Reggie Berry and Jackiem Wright turning it out. Especially Reggie with that super hot double button jacket, reminiscence of Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation era. jason statham films in Philadelphia til the end of December.

M. Night Shyamalan at the Philadelphia Film Festival

Thursday night the Philadelphia Film Festival hosted the 10th Anniversary screening of Unbreakable (starring Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson & Robin Wright Penn). I still haven't seen it as I was running late at the Vision 2020 Women's Conference event, which I wrote about Friday in my PhillyMag.com column and will write about this week as I forgot so much about the Geena Davis speech, which was hysterical. Anyway, Thursday

the theater was full of M. Night Shyamalan fans, which I was really glad to see since so many people have been disappointed about his movie. I love the one's I've seen. Of course my Favorite is The Sixth Sense.

I also love how he always films in and around Philly. He told the audience that The Sixth Sense was actually his 3rd film. The first two didn't do that well, but when it came to The Sixth Sense, he created a buzz demand for it telling his agent not to accept anything but a million dollars for the screen rights, and that he would direct, and that it would be filmed in the Philadelphia area. You have to give him a lot of credit for creating and executing conditions like that. The Sixth Sense would go on to become one of his biggest blockbusters ever.

This is probably Shyalaman's most unsung movie. It is such a good story and the concept is so unique. Good vs. Evil in it's most carnal form and the birth of a Superhero. (Youtube commentor)

How do you feel about Unbreakable now?

Shyalaman greeted fans at the end of the Q&A and took pixs with a few.

He told one of them that he may indeed make a sequel to it. I think he should re-release it.

I think that's his daughter with him, she just turned 11
He was just about to leave
but came back for a few more autographs

Milligan & Company Celebrates 25th Anniversary - that reminds me tax season is right around the corner

This was an event I was invited to cover, but I had a conflict. On occasion I can run other peoples photos since I like to put a lot of content on my PhillyMag.com column and run out of events to put on PCC. These photos were taken by my friend Photo: Chris Santaniello/ MetroPhillyPhoto , but I will add content to keep it interesting and not like a photo album of sorts. I promise to only run other people's photos at the most 2xs a week.

Milligan is well known as one of the country’s largest minority and veteran-owned accounting firms, with five regional offices.

Milligan staff Angela Lee, Jovan Goldstein, Diane King and Jim Buckley “Historically, blacks have one of the lowest levels of representation in the accounting industry: about three percent,” noted Jovan Goldstein, Partner in Milligan’s Audit Practice. “That has posed challenges for young black accountants, but it has also given our firm a unique position. Milligan has become a firm of choice for many large organizations that embrace supplier diversity and quality services.”
Milligan staff Robin Holland, CPA and Milligan & Co’s Audit Manager, with Tim Roseboro, The Reinvestment Fund, in the Independence Seaport Museum lobby.
Bill Walsh, Director at Congressman Joe Sestak’s office, presenting a Congressional Recognition certificate to Milligan & Company partners Denise Bailey, John Milligan and Jovan Goldstein. Remember to vote on Nov 2.
Bruce Cohen, a former PwC partner and John Milligan’s mentor, with John Milligan, Milligan & Company’s Managing Partner. John Milligan has been a selfless contributor to the region’s nonprofits. In addition to founding and serving as board chair of the Greater Philadelphia Minority Business Strategic Alliance, he is board treasurer for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Last year, he was a recipient of the Philadelphia Business Journal’s inaugural Minority Business Leaders award.
