FASHION UP @ PEARL a good start Jack & Jill Boutique

Fashion - Up with Phillylounges.com at Pearl, Saturday Jan 31st for an exclusive pampering from fashion to the best mash-up music in the country. Downstairs the girls get made up among the cans of tomato juice and boxes of holiday decorations in preparation for the big Fashion Up show which
had good PR as it seemed that all the media/photog players were in the house including me, PCC; the runway was set up in the restaurant area - AKOYA, which is surprisingly spacious when the tables are removedAnd then it began, but there was no announcement so if I didn't know the people involved, I wouldn't have known that it was Jack & Jill Boutique The women's line was also showcased in springs hues such as lilacs, pale orange, whites, and blues ,and greens. All very flowly and feminine.
Designers included, Cynthia Steffe, Anama, Sky, and Interlud.the black mini is always in

as is the black skirt, let's just face it black is here to stay as the non-color to wear out
Jack & Jill's men's line in our Spring/ Resort collection featured some of the soft baby hues for this season… a lot of plaid and striped detailing in powdery hues that reminds you of those spring days. We also showed some edgier looks with military style detailing that is popular on the runway. Our designer jeans are always about comfort! Jeans should be comfortable yet stylish, so we have brands that represent them such as: William Rast – a new line from Justin Timberlake (Did I mention I will be shooting this show 2/17), Energie, 7 Diamonds, which was all shown on the runway for the men's collection, but no look was more smashing thenthe Arthur Kadyshes South Beach Body look as the crowd squealed with delightAnd just like that it was over
the Philly lounge guys were there and we thank themAnh Nguyen of Jack & Jill gives out the VIP gift bagsthe runway is broken down, and AKOYA is back in operation
and the party began upstairs in Pearl Donna & Charlie had reserved "Bottle" service, which comes with a table, and at Pearl you need to have this service or you will be standing the whole night -
S&M = Stand & Model
Fun, when you order an additional bottle for your table they bring out it like this
Happy Birthday to you beautifulSUNDAY IS ANOTHER CHANCE FOR YOU TO CATCH SOME FASHION. Fashion Affair Wired 96.5 at the Curtis Center 11AM - 4PM - FREE Admission
The party upstairs was kicking it, but it will always be bizarre to me when in between good songs people just stand in place and chat, then return to dancing when a good song comes on again. For the ultimate good time, get the "Bottle Service" it's $400 for 2 bottles and you can invite 6- 8 friends to split the bill and to really have a nice, comfortable time.
Susan Helfrich, Sofia, Donna Coghlan, Charlie Pasquale with Megan and Adam Spivak in comfort & the bottles
Sabrina Strickland, guest and the wild and crazy Steve Thorn
The question I have is why did they hold people at the door until almost 11PM, sure it created an exciting atmosphere, but it was cold for the people waiting in line. I did get in early as Donna had a table, and it wasn't crowded in the place;

IT SNOWED AND I TOOK A FEW PIXS, wish I had taken more

After the "surprise" snowstorm last night, I took a few photos on my way to work
I think this could be next year's Christmas/Holiday Card. Happy Valentine Day!!
The Clothespin was more beautiful than this morning. Claes Oldenburg’s 45-foot-high, 10-ton sculpture stands in front of the Center Square Building at 15th and Market Streets, near City Hall. Dedicated in time for the 1976 Bicentenial, some people describe it as two people kissing, others say the metal clip is in the shape of 76 on purpose, but I think they all look that way.A different look of the Park Hyatt at the Bellvue, but if I titled that incorrectly I am sure Molly or Anna will correct me. (This is the view from my office, but not my office)

At lunch I ran down to Independence Park where my other favorite building is located. Do you know which one is my first fav building? This is the window closest to my cubicle. Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler are not staying at the Ritz, I would know it's that building on the far right and I have binoculars.
I work for a great attorney, he always tells me when the sunsets are perfect and yells for me to grab my camera. (The others are great to, calling me or emailing me to do the same)

This evening I was in the middle of finishing a research memo for him, when he called for me to catch the sunset. I told him I really needed to wrap this memo up, and he was like put it aside and before these shots are gone.
A few weeks earlier he called me over for these shots, I urge him to get a digital 'cause he has a great eye, but he still swears by his film camera.
I must have photographed over 1,000 times last year and never caught

Resurrection, a Timely Play of Possibilty and Change at the Suzanne Roberts Theater til 2/22 - Opening Night Party

It's been over a year since I attended the opening of the "Suzanne Roberts Theater", but earlier this week I attended the opening of a play I had heard some buzz about. Pictured below is Suzanne Roberts and her husband Ralph Roberts. She is currently the host of the TV program, "Seeking Solutions with Suzanne", co-hosted with Wally Kennedy.
Ressurection is about Five African-American men ranging in age from 20 to 60 have their lives transformed by the extraordinary mind and spirit of a 10-year-old boy. This joyous new work by Daniel Beaty, an exciting fresh voice in American theatre, examines what it means to be a black man in America today.
Beaty's current work, Emergency, garnered the 2007 Obie Award and has been inspiring audiences and critics from Philadelphia and New York to L.A. "Lyrically brilliant; a must-see from an exciting young artist." –Associated Press

Blondell Reynolds-Brown with friends and right hand man Jason Lewis (Who is leaving for Hawaii on Saturday, so jealous) Longtime photographer for the Philadelphia Tribune Robert MendelsonMartha and her son 13 yr old actor Thuliso Dingwall (who in conversation mentioned to me that he is staying in the same hotel as Jamie Foxx "which is really cool")
Resurrection, a new play by Daniel Beaty ringing in the new year on January 23-February 22 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets). Directed by Oz Scott, this production re-unites the cast which developed the production at Arena Stage and Hartford Stage: Turron Kofi Alleyne, Che Ayende, Thuliso Dingwall, Alvin Keith, Jeffrey V. Thompson, and Keith Randolph Smith with Suzanne Robert's Producing Artistic Director Sara Garonzik ( Get Info for tickets here http://www.philadelphiatheatrecompany.org/)
I love going to the Suzanne Roberts theater with it's
  • 360-seat traditional proscenium auditorium and mezzanine with ample leg room
  • Welcoming two-story lobby and mezzanine level reception area
  • State-of-the-art lighting and sound facilities
  • Superior patron amenities
  • Elevator to all floors
  • State-of-the-art accessibility for patrons with disabilities
and did I mention those roomy seats. I can't stand going to the Forrest, Merriam or the Academy as those seats are entirely too narrow and the arm rests leave marks in my untoned body.

Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx Law Abiding Citizen Filming In Philadelphia

It's over for filming across the street from where I work
, filming ended yesterday at Philadelphia's City Hall.

Throughout the day filming went on in the 6th Floor Caucus room. People were texting me of Gerard Butler sightings. He even stopped and signed a few autographs for the workers in the building.
I have added a few photos that I haven't posted before or even submitted to my agency, just to thank all you Gerard Butler fans who have visited PhillyChitChat over the past week or so.Although I have a press pass, because I wasn't on "Official" business, I wasn't allowed in to photograph the pair. See the light in the courtyard on the left wall, that is oppostite to where the Caucus room is located.
After realizing that the filming would go into the night, I decided to walk towards City Hall and was surprised to find the courtyard opened, and workers manning the lights.

I came to work today, and the courtyard was empty. All my dreams of photographing him a 2nd time in Philly are gone. I hear they were both busy over the weekend, bummer that no one tipped me off.
According to Dan Gross' column

Jamie Foxx throws Super Bowl party at Smith & Wollensky
"Law Abiding Citizen" star Jamie Foxx threw a Super Bowl party for eight at Smith & Wollensky at the Rittenhouse. The crew hung out in a back room and Foxx went for a Caesar salad and a bone-in ribeye steak. The film will soon be shooting in North Philadelphia and the George W. Hill Correctional Facility in Delaware County, where actor/comedian/musician Kenneth Keith Kallenbach was incarcerated when he died last year. Foxx's "LAC" co-star and producer Gerard Butler partied over the weekend at Public House (18th & Cherry) where he was friendly to fans.

Thanks again, and I promise to catch my first Gerard Butler movie sometime soon.
